Somewhere in about 2017-18 I asked Michael Hurley if he'd like to produce some of his staple pipefitters caps to sell as merch... A little collaboration... To which he responded "I don't know if I want a buncha Snocks running around". He's been known to wear these hats for longer than most of us have been alive.
In the fall of 2022, Michael and I were having a slice of pizza and he says, "You know, Mike" finger pointed in the air "I think them hats are a good idea now".
So off we went, working out a pattern ole Snock was into. 6 or 7 iterations later we were there and made a small run for him and a small run for us.
there are only a handful of these in existence right now and they're available in 3 sizes.
The real reason for all of this is to show respect to a human that's made some of the finest wacky and beautiful folk music ever to exist. Since the 60's, Michael has been recording album after album, Mostly on tape at his homes, and adorning the covers with his art.. Depicting a world all his own. If you haven't, please spend some time with a Michael Hurley album or two. Vinyl is readily available on his website (you're going to have to mail a check) or Mississippi records and their wholesalers.
